Mike Dooley (born February 7, 1961, Orange, California) is a New York Times Bestselling author, speaker, and entrepreneur in the philosophical New Thought movement. His teachings contain the premise that our "thoughts become things," an expression he made popular in Rhonda Byrne's book and video documentary on the Law of Attraction, The Secret.
Dooley graduated from the University of Florida in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Today he is a former PriceWaterhouseCoopers international tax consultant, turned entrepreneur, who’s founded a philosophical Adventurers Club on the Internet that’s now home to over 750,000 members from over 185 countries. His inspirational books emphasizing spiritual accountability have been published in 25 languages and he was one of the featured teachers in the international phenomenon, The Secret. Today Mike is perhaps best known for his free Notes from the Universe emailings. What started in 1998 as an email sent out weekly to 38 addresses has since blossomed into today's daily Notes from the Universe, sent to over 750,000 subscribers in 185 countries! These Notes are brief passages written by "The Universe," personalized with your name (and occasionally your personal goals and dreams), designed to remind you that you have, indeed, been given dominion over all things.
Also important is his New York Times bestsellers Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams and Leveraging the Universe: 7 Steps to Engaging Life’s Magic. Mike lives what he teaches, traveling internationally speaking on life, dreams, and happiness. Together with Mike we can say:
Our mission is to remind others of life’s fundamental truths: that life is magical, we are powerful, and dreams really do come true. We do this by spreading the word (through inspirational emails, events, and life-changing adventures) about the nature of reality, the law of attraction, creative visualization, and the power of thought.
His new book is called Playing the Matrix: A Program for Living Deliberately and Creating Consciously.
The book is a master class for creating the life you want to live. Tried and true, delivered and perfected over a decade while being shared live with tens of thousands of students in 132 cities, in 34 countries, upon 6 continents.
In Playing the Matrix, Mike Dooley brings to bear his advanced course on living deliberately and creating consciously. The concepts Mike shares in these pages make up his most impactful, most transformational program ever. For the first time, these complete ideas are at your fingertips in book form.
At the heart of the Matrix lies a simple yet highly unexpected concept for creating major life change, unlike anything shared by other teachers, past or present. It clearly reveals why “manifesting” sometimes works with incredible ease, why it sometimes doesn’t work at all, and why, on occasion, it works and yet in hindsight we wish it hadn’t. You’ll not only learn about the “Bermuda Triangle of Manifesting” that too often leads to heartbreak and loss, you’ll discover how to navigate around it, under full sail, with new “Aha!” moments as you come to understand:
1) How to achieve clarity in purpose and desire
2) How to avoid contradictions and self-sabotage
3) How to fuel your dreams with passion while not attaching to unimportant details and outcomes
4) How to plan and take action on your dreams without messing with the “cursed hows”
And so much more.
Playing the Matrix lays out the actual physical and metaphysical mechanics of manifestation, including your role in the equation of reality creation, so that you can deliberately orchestrate the changes you most wish to see. Once you begin working with the Universe instead of unwittingly working against it, you will truly astound yourself.
“The rationale becomes so self-evident that readers will have a whole new, and improved, code to create by.”
— Elisha Goldstein, Ph.D., Founder of A Course in Mindful
A message from Mike:
Jambo Fellow Adventurer,
Seventeen years ago, months shy of turning a very scary “four oh!,” at the lowest ebb of my life—distraught over a bad breakup, second career up in smoke, debt far exceeding my life’s savings—heartbroken, I wondered if I’d ever be happy again. By any account, my life was a train wreck.
Among other seemingly futile attempts to “get my groove back,” I began sending out free inspirational e-mails. And slowly—very slowly—I felt better. Within a year, as my little mission grew and my website expanded, I found myself experiencing sporadic happiness. Within two, I was dating, earning, and had an impressive following. After three, I began to travel the world, teaching that anyone, anywhere, no matter where they are, no matter where they’ve been, can learn how to live deliberately and create consciously. And on one such trip, even after I thought it might be too late for myself, I met a woman who’d later make me a first-time husband and father. “Stranger than fiction,” as they say.
Today, after all these years as my own student and teacher, my ultimate daylong presentation has evolved into my newest book, Playing the Matrix. In it, I share all that I’ve learned, plus, with the benefit of hindsight, I share exactly what I did to unwittingly hasten a comeback that would wildly exceed my earlier life successes. It’s become my most advanced program, not because it’s complicated—it’s not—but because it’s so unconventional, unexpected, and at first, seemingly contradictory to all the wisdom taught by others. Distilled to as few words as possible, this book aims to give you a better understanding of who you are, how you got here, and, above all, what you can still do with your time in space.
